You have actually answered your own question! An excellent answer by Mark for ALL callers would have been: "We cannot make an estimate on the timing of the deal, since that is completely out of our control." I recognize, however, that that answer might be overly negative-sounding, so I offer one an IR friend of mine has used effectively for many years without making a single enemy in the process: "Our company does not comment publicly on the timing of our deals, since to do so might lead to unnecessary short-term speculation in our stock."
