A month or two ago, BioWorld (BioCentury?) also ran an article the mentioned the increasing KS population due to AIDS patients living longer because of PIs.

You are correct that the PI's have kept KS under control. You see very little of it today. Seven or 8 years ago I would see people , on the street, wth it every day.(I live in SF) But , what I believe your missing is that PI recipients are startiing to increasingly "break through" (terminology used in articles) and KS is slowly starting to appear again.
