This guy claims he is a broker and says that there are "accounting irregularities" at CPQ. I suppose that "stockrumors.com" is another worthless site, but I can't get into it to see what they have to say. El

The rumor is circulating

It's just a rumor. But then again I make my living buying and selling
rumors so I listen to any rumor concerning big caps like Compaq. I
heard it about 20 minutes after the close. It is also posted on several
services. Checkout StockRumors.com - they have it posted.

Are you an option player? If so, I would be interested in the bullish
interpretation of Tuesdays CPQ and options trading patterns. (That's
not a rhetorical question - I would really like to know)

I am a short term trader and don't concern myself with any underlying
fundamentals so I tend to stay out of any strategic or vision type
discussions. Quite frankly, if the rumor is true it would not surprise
very many on the street. How Compaq can acquire Tandem and
merge with DEC without some "Accounting Irregularities" is beyond
most analysts and would not be unexpected.

I remember the good old days when no one cared what the heck those asian markets were doing at midnight. We had it good then.
