8/14/98: Bertelsmann AG Enters the Market

From five days ago:

AOL spokesperson Tricia Primrose has identified yesterday's big
seller of 1 million shares at the open (the one executed by Goldman
Sachs) as Bertelsman AG, the German publishing company. This
transaction leaves Bertelsman with 4.4 million AOL shares.

Guess what folks,

This may be WORSE news for AMZN than anyone ever imagined.

Didn't Bertesman (DOUBLEDAY), the LARGEST PUBLISHER IN THE WORLD,
purchase something like 100 HIGH END SUN INTERNET SERVERS last
month?!?

It must all be a coincidence.

They just want the money to BURN IT!

Grimy, Nippon announced a bank rescue plan, who knows how it will work, have been reading some of the provisions but you can't believe a word they say so who knows. -g- Globex tagging along, too, but let's see how the big Moscow protest coming in an hour or two works out.
