> The PC market is pretty hard to read

I really dont see much difficulty reading into the PC market from AMD's success. Internet is the fastest growing market right now and regardless of how the world economy does, internet will continue to have an explosive growth for the next few years (at least). In an information age everyone is thirsty for news/information/data/etc. Up to a year ago network computers were to provide the necessary means for regular consumers (i.e. from my grandma to my boss) an easy and cheap way to access internet and therefore information. However with the cheap PCs (under $1000) NCs are kind of dead for now. PC market will continue to have an impressive growth as long as internet will do so. I expect for example for Compaq to show a very healthy (and wealthy) earnings report.

My only concern is the so much negative sentiments that exist in the market right now. Even I, a long time bull, have now come to be a bit cautious because of so much beating that I have taken on my stocks during the past 4 months. My cautious has come to the point of saying to myself: "This time when my stocks are at break even point I will definitely sell without any hesitations!" This is what I call selling into any rally, and that sure does not translate into higher stock prices from this point (not at least in the short term and as long as there are more people who have the same thinking as I do)! Of course I maybe an exception and as most likely will be the case strictly because of my optimistic nature I end up Not selling any of my stocks when I am at break even point!

Anyway, I think INTC, MSFT will report much much better than expected earnings which should energize the overall market. Who knows even LSI may in fact report better than expected earnings with a bit more optimistic statements than they had a few weeks ago before the stock crashed to its current levels. The only concern should then be if market sentiments can actually maintain and expand the energized bull market after better than expected earnings by many companies. It is indeed true that the stock market is driven mostly by emotion and not logic!
