Tenchusatsu,

I suspect AMD's surprise along with MOTO's better than expected earnings may be an indication that there is a significant upturn in the semi market. If AMD says their business is strong then Intel's must be strong too. I am looking for strong Intel earnings next week, even given their pre-announcement. If AMD can beat expectations then Intel certainly can too. I am making money shorting AMD puts. Hope you are making money too.

>> Today was AMD's win, but it sure wasn't Intel's loss, although Wall Street might think so for a while.>>

I beg to differ. Frankly the $0.01 cent profit is basically meaningless.
However Intel figured that the Mendocino at 300/333 would kill off AMD while preserving the PII 350/400/450.

AMD has turned the tabled by producing hundreds of thousands of 350's last quarter. They also announced they HAVE ALREADY started to ship 400 Mhz chips this QUARTER, without even formally anoouncing the products yet.

Now Intel is in trouble because the Celery official speeds are below K6 sweet spot of 350 Mhz and above for Q4.

They will have to scramble in Q4 IMHO.

Regards,

Kash
