" The decline in KS began before the introduction of PI's and has more to do, in my opinion, with changed sexual practices in the gay community. KS, now shown to have a unique viral etiology, was confined almost exclusively to gay AIDS patients and was probably a sexually transmitted disease. I wouldn't count on a big turnaround in case numbers." The decline started with AZT ,CDI etc. Unfortuntly, see SF article Sat. or Sunday I think, the number of sexually transmitted diseases are increasing in the gay population at an alarming rate. This is blamed on the ignoring of safe sexual practices and the reliance of PI's by the gay community.
