Or you could look at last weeks? (Oct 5) New Yorker and get Joe Klein's take on the affair. Joe Klein, the "Anonymous" of Primary Colors, wouldn't be put very high on most people's Friends of Bill list, but he couldn't see much good coming out of this one either. He put a lot of the blame squarely on the press. Given that everybody has taken to reporting what Matt Drudge says as "news", I'd say he has a point. He also had a somewhat different take on the Watergate comparison than most people here, similar to my memories. Cheers, Dan.

I don't really consider the left dangerous ..., and don't wish to reduce people's civil liberties Keeping ownership of what you earn is the core civil liberty. The one goal this splintered group has in common is to attack this civil liberty. What do you call someone who by force has no control over the fruits of his labor? A slave? What do you call someone who by force has no control of half of the fruits of his labor? Half a slave? What is the goal of the left? Increase the slave/free ratio. At every turn. Conservatatism/Libertarianism IS THE civil liberties movement in the country today. Wake up slave.
