The words that accompany the Monkey^2 picture in "PC Gamer" make direct reference to Voodoo2 SLI mode. I'm thinking that they will roll out a campaign to get current V2 owners to buy a second card. Probably some kind of juicy rebate deal.

Don't forget the references to a "dark horse" product for Christmas.

I can't see running an ad campaign to announce your new ad campaign. :)

My guess is the new reference design has a lot more to it than we were previously told and it is being picked up by the board OEMs.

Speculation

How do you differentiate the Rev 3 board in the marketplace, draw proper attention, excite consumers - call it Voodoo 2 Rev 3? Voodoo 2 1/2?

Nope.

But, perhaps you sell it SLI only (at least to start). Maybe even a single board SLI. Then you even excite current Voodoo 2 owners -- tantalizing them to buy an entirely new setup. You also create the fastest single board 3D on the planet, say 30% faster than older (Rev 2) SLI setups.

For Rev 3 to be successful, it needs to be properly marketed, distinct, identifiable.

Sell it SLI only (and maybe even single-board at that).
