Anyone: My quote service shows Csco indicated to open slightly lower. Is there some news or is this just a mistake?

Be a bit careful Frank. Not entirely sure that the U.S. may not go into a slump as well and betting big that it wont is not that safe....though it may play out right in the end, but the risk is there for sure.

Frank: You are one of those guys who thinks the bull market will continue forever. Given the current economic outlooks, I am not sure it's just Asia's problem. Russia basically has no economy now. Brazil and South America is on the verge of collapse, and who's the next one? Australia? South Africa? Sooner or later, it will get to US. I don't know about other people, but my company has somehow scaled back the IT budget for next year. If things are as rosy as you describe, there wouldn't be more people believe we are heading into a bear market (if we aren't already in one) than people believe we are still in a bull market. Short term market direction is all depending on the investors' confidence, and right now, that doesn't appear to be too strong. It's bad right now, but it still could get even worse. My stance is to stay on the side line, you can never time the bottom, it's better to just ride it out.

One possible solution is to start a war to stimulate the economy. I am all for US go into Yugoslavia to over-throw Slobodan Milosevic and install a "democratic" govenment of US style. Then we do the same thing in Iraq, Iran and North Korea.

<And the world is not going into a slump just ASIA with a no inflation no growth situation for US/EUR>
