Alan - how many seats are up for grabs - 55? So talk of a landslide might be a little hyperbolic - I know your view of this but the contrary view is also compelling - political vengence at the highest level - leaves a lot of people uncomfortable at the sight of these grey haired worthies with their heads huddled together in this modern Inquisition. Whether it turns out to be a a kangaroo court we will have to wait and see - but we have only heard the case for the prosecution - what worries me is that the case for the defense, however strong, will be ignored because the jury is already in (House votes) - so the case will be won and lost in the Senate - who knows when? Good for You ! ***********WAY OFF TOPIC***********

How about holding up Yassar Arafat for 45 minutes in the Rose Garden while our President is being serviced in the Oval Office. How about talking about national security measures to a Congressman on the telephone while being serviced from under the desk. Cruise missiles were fried on weapons producing factories destroying lives and property while Congressional leaders were not notified, and even the joint chiefs of staff not being notified until the eve before. There was even one "factory " spared literally minutes before it's pending destruction because of the feared loss of civilian lives.

You hear about how hard working our president is but then find he has had two cabinet meetings all year. And I'm not ready to capitulate and admit that if less government interference with the affairs of citizens is in our best interest that I should stand up and applaud.

Hi Alan,
If you read my post carefully, there is not one statement which suggests that Clinton's behavior wasn't repugnant, however, this does not justify the Republican's behavior which has to be, and I believe will be judged by itself. What they are doing in my opinion is a reminder of the Nazi show trials, and is even more repugnant and dangerous. I know it is awhile until the end of Clinton's term, but I believe elections are the best way to deal with this. Will voters vote against Clinton in the mid terms, because of his personal behavior or against even more repugnant, dangerous and threatening behavior by the Republicans? I think voters who think clearly and critically, will vote against the Republicans, given the course of action they are following.
