"changed sexual practices in the gay community..."
That's the problem that has plagued the gay community since the early 80's. UCSF did a survey back in the early 90's stating in essence that even tho gay men, especially young gay men, knew about protecting themselves, the didn't because they thought they would get aids anyway. And that is what gets me. AIDS/Hiv infection is one disease that is highly preventable if one just takes some precaution. But, many don't take heed? And we're spending billions of dollars on one disease that has political backing and a very well organized lobbying group. Maybe the slogan that should have been adopted to get the message out that they could understand should have been "It the condom, stupid!"
