Yes, 3000 points is a huge potential, but the probabilities decrease and the risk of a rally increases as you go lower. At 9300, puts were a no brainer. Now, they are using up all my random access memory. <G> Seriously, the real easy stuff, Presstek at 200, MU at 95, Citicorp at 182, Merrill over par, are in the past. Only the internet goofs are left, along with Dell and a handful of other niftie techies. The market is still way overpriced, but it is more like a run on cabbage patch dolls instead of tulip mania.
