<While many of the regular participants on this thread have brought their own particular biases to the discussion (myself included), they are occasionally thinly disguised, but in most cases clearly stated (hence the disclosure by some of positions in other stocks). There haven't been many people posting here to sell something. I would expect that such spamming is more effective on Yahoo!, as it seems that every other post is selling something there. Best of luck with your web site. I doubt that I'll be subscribing anytime soon.>

There is nothing for you to subscribe to. I simply suggested that you read an article that would educate you on the task that you are asking me to perform for you on my time. I do not work for you. Feel free to ignore my posts, but if you consider them spamming, then I suggest you cease asking me to do things that you are quite capable of doing yourself with a little education. As I said, the information is publicly available.

Mike and others who may know,

Suppose you are a 20 person company that wants to put up a database driven web site. If you go with Linux and Oracle all you have to pay for is Oracle. But if you go with Microsoft you have to pay for NT, SQL Server and their related products like Visual Interdev.

Do you happen to have a rough idea which would be cheaper?

Oracle's press release points out that of the top 100 web sites most use Oracle and only 9% use Microsoft, but there are a lot more than 100 web sites out there. Why do I get the feeling that if you look at web sites other than this group of 100 you would find that most use Microsoft and they do it because of significant cost savings?
