09:15 ET: After closing more than two points above fair value yesterday, S&P futures -4.40 this morning, and have dropped more than 7 points in the past 30 minutes... Catalyst for the turnaround was comment from Greenspan that the U.S. faces forces that will dampen demand... Not good news for stocks which are poised to open lower... Bond market rebounding from larger losses following Greenspan remark... 30-yr bond -15/32 at 4.76%, but had been down more than a point as the Nikkei rallied 6% with the Diet expected to be on the verge of finally passing crucial banking reform legislation... Dollar off sharply against the yen in response to this development and the expectation of further rate cuts in the U.S.... Dollar-yen at Y124.43 from yesterday's close of Y130.30. (briefing.com)
