$50 M is how much it would take moi to make an encoder chip like the E4, with the basic encode firmware. Don't be confused by the E1,E2,and E3 development costs.

$75M is for the statumux encoder and all the other encoder-specific goodies at Divicom.

A wild guess. I sure wouldn't use a sparc core. You want the multiflow tools that intel bought for Merced. So go with MIPS.
