deepwater contract in the gulf.

This looks significant to me. From the annual report which lists all rigs and expiration dates, this is one of two 4th gen in the gulf. The other has a slightly longer existing contract. The other five 4th generation rigs are in north/norweg seas.

I also only see 4 of 14 "other semisubmersibles" in the gulf, with 2 actually listed as upgrades coming out in this year and having 5 year contracts, and 2 others which are up in this year (Anyone know if they were renewed?). Of the drillships (which are 5 of 6 in the gulf) only one contract expires in 1999. The rest are in 2000, 2003, 2004. None of the 6 jackups are in the GOM.
