Back on defense. The next time I say does it get better than this, you say “ Yes, when we get to Bull Confirmed . !!!! So here we are, you Preston & I walking through the canyons of wall street. The towering structures, which blocking out most of the sunlight, are quite impressive. If you look up the many stories of the investment banker buildings, you get a glimpse of the past. What stories these buildings could tell. As we approach the NYSE, you see a giant statue of George Washington. He was sworn in to his first term right about where you are standing. On the corner is a newspaper dispenser. There is a picture of Sick Willy. What a contrast. I cannot tell a lie Vs. I can not tell the truth. Up the street is the Trinity church. If you look closely at the sidewalk, sometimes you will see a column of O's leading from the exchange to the graveyard. Sometimes you will see a column of X's leading from the graveyard to the exchange. If you count the OPTI action this summer, we are starting our third trip towards the church. The first time we were in autopilot. Close stops etc, right out of the book. Not many points were given up. The X's appeared and we headed back towards the exchange. The NYSEBP was still defensive but what the heck, we are old pros at this now. By the time the OPTI turned, the other team scored more points on me than they should have. During this trip on the paths of O's, I had to stop in the Trinity church and see Father Tom. Though shall not put the quarterback on the field when the other team has the ball! Then the X's came back again and off to the exchange we go. Got a few plays off before the other team got the ball again today. As we begin this journey of O's towards Trinity street, my defense took the field today. I hope you guys are similarly inclined! Our trips back and forth have been historically uneventful. In 1929 these buildings were lit till 3 in the morning as traders and specialist tried to square the books after the panic. In 1987, the traders and specialist were similarly shell shocked from the panic. We newby P&F types have yet to see a panic. There is no way to predict if we will ever see one - next week or 30 years from now - or never - but staying defensive when the O's are highlighting the sidewalk will keep us from being on the wrong side of one. Friday morning, people all over the world will be opening their morning newspapers and see some variation of the word “Impeach-e-monto” or “El-peach-irillo”. I don't think they will be calling their broker to buy el-IBM-o. Take care, Dick
