Larry, As I'm sure you are aware, AMD is not a pure play on Processors. They are losing big time in other business units. I think that's not going to change soon and as you clearly state, Intel isn't going to sit still for long.

I just thought it was very note worthy how much sequential unitgrowth they've had in the last 2 quarters. Yes, this is bad as it comes from greater sub $1000 PC sales, but greater unit growth would imply somebody in the chain is doing well. I would guess it's good for some software sales, peripherals and new internet accounts.

As you point out, $1000 maybe a high end system soon. But, what do you get for $300? Do you get a word processor? Win 95 or 98? Enough memory to run advance programs like dication? Graphics?
