Blue Jays love bacon grease; they will eat it like ice cream. Spouse informs me that Velveeta was used for "chumming" at Flaming Gorge reservoir in Utah, in her childhood.

Hmmmmm. I don't think that's right fishing behavior, is it?

["No! Canned corn is right."]

Yep, I remember it was important to keep that coffee can of bacon grease handy. The BEST dinners started with a little bacon grease!!

Forgot all about that stuff.

Ah, cooking with bacon grease, mama and granny both kept a jar on the stove. Made for some great popcorn. We had home grown popcorn so there were a few moths in it. They were crispy and full of protein.

How come when I ate good tasting food, fried in pig fat, I was skinny? Now everything is no fat and has no taste but I'm fat enough to slaughter. And how come that jar of fat could sit out year after year and not spoil?
