Talisman Acquires Arakis Energy Thursday October 8, 5:19 pm Eastern Time SOURCE: Talisman Energy Inc. ".....The transaction was approved by the security holders of Arakis at a special meeting held on October 7 and by the Court of Queen's Bench of Alberta. The transaction has also received the consent of the Government of Sudan and the members of the Greater Nile Petroleum Operating Company consortium. Under the terms of the transaction, Arakis shareholders have been issued one Talisman common share for every 10 Arakis shares. An aggregate of approximately 8.9 million Talisman common shares have been issued and Talisman now has approximately 118.9 million shares outstanding. Arakis has forwarded to each registered holder of Arakis shares a Letter of Transmittal containing instructions for obtaining delivery of Talisman shares.
