If things get any worse the Fed should be coming to the rescue before the next meeting if necessary. The wealth destruction and negative wealth effect is obvious; are you ready to jump in and make an expensive purchase of an item you could comfortably live without at the moment?, I certainly don't think I would with the market like this. Looks like we have a good shot of finally getting that official 20% loss in at least the S&P today. I would say however that while this may not end up looking like healthy testing action the degree to which there is panic out there suggests we may get a good rally again before the close but at this point a bit of a crash into the close is an unpleasant possibility.
