Chip,

I have been reading your posts since before E3 but I really think that Tom's review is not all that biased. More importantly I think it brings up some interesting points which need to be looked at.
Going forward for 3dfx there are basically 4 types of customers and I believe the key thing to look at is what is the most likely thing for each of these groups to do next.
1) Those who currently do not have any 3d acceleration in their current PC and want to upgrade
2) Those who will be buying a new PC
3) Those who currently have 1 Voodoo2 card
4) Those who already have Voodoo2 SLI

I see the people in 1) choosing between TnT and Banshee and here I think Banshee could do well because of price and because it does not seem to be as CPU dependent. In 2) it looks to me that TnT is going to ship alot more volume then Banshee based on OEM stuff we have seen so far. Group 3) is the group 3DFX seems to be betting on for Christmas but I think alot of people might just buy TnT instead of adding a second Voodoo2. Group 4) well I know you bought a Banshee and I realise this group is tiny in number but I think TnT makes more sense here. You are correct that Voodoo2 has been around for while and Nvidia lies like crazy but until 3Dfx releases their next part these are your only choices and the Christmas season is here. I would really like hear peoples thoughts on these 4 groups and why they think they will buy what.
