Bob, I agree with you about the difficulty of calculating the opening of an index. The highs and lows of the day also pose interesting questions as not all components of an index hit their lows and highs at the same time. Which is the true high and low. From a psychological point of view the actual reported low or high I think would be more significant than the theoretical one. Particularly if it was an important level of support or resistance. But it seems I got a corrupt download,as my data was way off. Although the funny thing is. Just now looking at Investor's Business Daily it gives the data I got last night. So maybe it was the data provider after all. All I know, is that with tonight's download it's been changed.
