Tom stated his opinion and he told us why he made up his mind. He provided tons of detail so that anyone else who has different criteria can also make up their mind. I can disagree with his opinion, but I still think that it was a good review.

You can write to him about your concerns (Banshee goes higher resolution, etc.). He has been responsive to e-mail in the past.

The myth here is that the frame rate is *continuous*. Because you get 30fps out of it for 10 seconds doesn't mean you get 30fps consistently and until enternity. The benefit of higher frame-rates is that - especially in multiplayer - you have a lot more room to drop frames before you get jerky game-play.

It's like saying there's no benefit to a car that goes over 65mph since that's all you need to keep up.
