Jenna, I don't like going long on shoddy companies, especially for a positional trade.

Gold..in them 'thar hills! <<Check gold stocks 10/07/98:  ABX,HM,PDG,NEM,NGC, and AU. (ABX,NGC, NEM, all upgraded from Outperform to Trading Buy by Goldman Sachs on 10/6) They had unusually large amount of big blocks going through.>>

Those were the first two sentences in the Market Gems Watch List for today.

Do you realize gang that if you did nothing today but read the first two sentences of the watch list and went no further than that you would have made very nice money!... I put them back in the watch list physically even though I allude to them every day. That is because when they were upgraded I had a feeling they would surge nicely

Although ORCL,SUNW,LGTO and VRTS were very nice trades today, it would have been okay without all of them. It would have been best without YHOO this morning also! Infinitely better!

E-mail: MER.. I love MER, down another 10%, and here is the reason.

How can I love a stock that hasn't done anything but tank for the last 6 weeks. Okay so I want you all to buy in and move it up, NO!!... Of course not. This stock was the catalyst that made me take my long term portfolio from Mr. X broker, turned into cash (selling even my bellwhethers INTC,DELL, MSFT and WLA) mostly in anger rather than 'intuition'. I have 'cashed in' rather well since.

Had I listened to his recommmendation for MER I would have been 15k in the tubes by now, and another 12k for the others. Follow your own instincts, get thee to your favorite discount broker. The fullservice brokerages are interested in 'moving' their 'recommended lists'... I won't mention names so I won't be 'chastised'... It could be yours!
