<<Greenspan's warning of a liquidity squeeze were followed by widespread talk in the stock market of heavy selling by a fund in order to raise cash to pay redemptions. Some individual investors also could be short of cash.

Funds are also expected to carry out some tax-loss selling before the end of the month.

''A lot of margin calls are going on, and people are raising cash,'' said Harry Laubscher, a market analyst at Tucker Anthony. The mutual funds are probably raising cash too, so we are still selling into rallies here."

Liquidity has been a key fuel for the bull run until now.>>

No kidding? pyramid scheme participants are short of cash?
Why I am not surprised ? -g-
