I've just heard a rumor that compaq is laying off a large percentage of its manufacturing force here in houston. Supposedly the jobs are going to asia. Anyone hear anything similar? I'm putting off calling my former co-workers at cpq because I haven't spoken to them since I left. As for earnings, put me down for .12. Aren't those Jan 00 50 calls pretty cheap?

El, funny how these talking heads always have to throw gas on the fire, good or bad. KO and DELL are down 30% from their highs. DELL is down almost 20 in just a little over a week! That might not be "shooting the general", but it's sure beating him 'til he wished he were dead.
