"If the left has no power in this country, why then are we still allowing abortion?" Because abortion is not an issue the radical left has pushed. The primary spokesmen (spokespeople?) for abortion rights come from the center (moderate liberals in the two major parties). jbe

Dear Mr. KKK (sorry, I couldn't resist. it's been a nasty day at the office): if the left has no power in this country, why then are we still allowing abortion? What a twisted exremist statement. So many people who consider themselves politically conservative as well as the vast, vast majority of the American people are pro-choice. Anyway the matter often has nothing to do with politics. Christopher Hitchens, for example, the lefty writer for Salon, The Nation, and Vanity Fair, is vehemently pro-life. As are many Catholic union types, such as Glenn Poshard, running as a Democrat for Governor of Illinois. Even Barbara Bush was pro-choice. Would you brand poor Babs a Commie?
