Considering that we have a Democrat controlled legislature, and have had one for some time, that would be a fair comment. Of course, we're not so far left that we trust them with ALL the power - we keep putting Republican Governors in there to keep everyone honest.

L.A. and S.F. have to be two of the most liberal spots in the nation, and they are two of CA's biggest cities. They are somewhat offset by a remarkably conservative San Diego and Central Valley region, however.

Michelle, - my point was made in response to a claim that the "left had no power." Without the left, it is possible that abortion, particularly late-term or partial birth abortions, would be severely limited.

I don't know enough about CA politics to know for sure, but didn't Clinton carry California in the last election? And what is the makeup of the congressional representation? (I really don't know.)
