CrossKeys a Double Winner at Canada Export
Awards

Company's success in international markets earns additional
recognition with Teleglobe Innovation and Technology
Achievement award

KANATA, Ontario, Canada (October 6, 1998) - CrossKeys Systems
Corporation (NASDAQ: CKEYF; TSE: CKY), a leading supplier of service,
network and element management applications software for telecommunication
service providers, took home double gold last night at the 1998 Canada Export
Awards in Calgary.

CrossKeys was one of 10 Canadian companies honored with the Canada Export
Award for their success in international markets at a gala hosted by the Canadian
International Trade Minister, Sergio Marchi. The Kanata company was also
presented with the Teleglobe Award for Innovation and Technology Achievement
in recognition of its excellence in technology development.

"It is an honor to be recognized as an example of what Canadians can do in
international markets," said John Selwyn, President and CEO of CrossKeys. "This
award symbolizes the successful business relationships we are building around the
world."

"Canada is one of the world's leaders in telecommunications and it's a strength that
we at Teleglobe strongly encourage and want to build on," said Richard Gendron,
Vice President Sales and Marketing of Teleglobe. "This is why we are proud to
sponsor this award and to present it to such a deserving company like CrossKeys
Systems Corporation."

This public recognition for achievement is the latest milestone in a growing string of
successes for CrossKeys, which saw exports to Europe, the Middle East and
Africa triple in the past two years. In addition, Asia Pacific opened up as new
market and sales to Latin America continue to grow. Worldwide deregulation of
the telecommunication industry presents significant opportunities for companies
such as CrossKeys.

CrossKeys joined the 1998 Team Canada trade mission to Latin America to
further relationships in that part of the world. This visit reinforced CrossKeys'
relations with its distributors and agents, leading to a signed contract with the
Brazilian service provider, Telepar. Since the mission, CrossKeys has expanded its
local presence in Latin America, and recently opened an office in Mexico City.

CrossKeys now provides its network and service management business solutions
to over 165 customers in 45 countries. It has 13 offices in 10 countries and two
research and development centres.

CrossKeys revenues have grown from $87,000 in its first fiscal year, 1992, to
$38.7 million in fiscal 1998. Export revenues drive this growth. In the last two fiscal
years, export revenues rose from $17.3 million in 1997 to $32.2 million in 1998.

Under the theme - Partners In Trade - the Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce
and Export Development Corporation (EDC) and Teleglobe Inc. are official
sponsors of the 1998 Canada Export Awards, which are presented by Canada's
Department of Foreign Affairs and International Trade. The awards honor
Canadian companies that export their products and services to markets around the
world. The recipients of these awards have contributed significantly to Canada's
economic growth and have excelled in competing and succeeding in the global
trading arena.

Prior to becoming a publicly traded company, CrossKeys was named one of
Canada's 50 Best Managed Private Companies in 1995. In 1996, CrossKeys was
presented with the Canadian Advanced Technology Association (CATA) Award
for Emerging Technology. This year, CrossKeys was named one of Canada's
leading software companies as part of the Branham 200, and one of the world's
leading telecommunications industry companies in Telecom Business magazine's
Telecom 250. Most recently, it ranked first as the fastest growing high-tech
company by Canada's Financial Post in the Technology Fast 55.

CrossKeys Systems Corporation (www.crosskeys.com) is a leading developer of
service, network, and element management solutions for telecommunication service
providers, helping them gain a competitive advantage in deregulated markets.
CrossKeys combines a commitment to research and development with experience

Corporation, Compaq, and Siemens AG, CrossKeys products help service
providers deliver differentiated services, implement new technologies, and manage
multiple vendor networks. CrossKeys has been ISO 9001 certified since 1995.

M.D.B: . I have learnt long since that dogmatism can lead to massive failures in Market Strategies. As such for the record,I have never stated NN will not meet their EPS. Instead, I place my reliance on probability theory taking into a/c the past.

I consider that probability of NN meeting its forecast EPS is currently less than 50% for the following reasons.

a:Current Economic situation shows a Contraction of Global capital resulting in postponement of Capital goods orders in Countries outside
Europe & N.America.

b:Intense price Competition for market share. The Margins for NN have been decreasing.

c:Heavyweights indicate growth in TELECOM is expected to be 14% for next 3 yrs.

d:NN's N.American Sales have been weak traditionally. The leadership
vacum recently created remains to be filled.

e:The Industry Reports recently mentioned by NN were published in 97.
The 98 Figures were not made available although other Companies (ASND) are using the 98 Figures.

One should also remember that a probability distribution for EPS is not a normal Guassian but skewed in the direction of failure. This is because historically, more Companies fail to meet their targets than exceed them.
