Have we gotten to the point where more processor speed is going to be wasted on most applications, allowing the AMD's of the world to get involved at the low end and the low end growing much faster than the high end?

Alex,

There is no limit to the amount of processing that can be consumed by 3D graphics, speech recognition, etc. The quality of graphics applications is limited by the speed which math can be done. Each frame of "Toy Story" took hours of processing time on a supercomputer. Game writers will snatch up the additional processing power as soon as it becomes available. KNI should give them a big boost.

Your assumption that AMD is producing low performance CPU's is probably incorrect. K7 will be unveiled in a few days, and we will find out.
