>> You know craig, DITM puts also do the same thing to this stock as actual
shorts. <<

I didn't say it had no ramifications, I just said that it was a sure way for me to get short when I couldn't get shares.

>> Sooo, with all you new shorts coming in, you are cutting everyone's throat <<

New shorts? What is a new short? I hate to say it, but that's just the way it's got to be with this stock. All shorts are their own enemies, because that is the only thing keeping this stock up. There are plenty of stocks that have declined with heavy short interest all the way down, PRST and ZOLT are a couple that come to mind.

>> Bottom line is putters/shorts are putting in a hard floor on how low this can fall. -nfg- <<

I see, so you want me to be the martyr and give up my puny 6k short position so other shorts don't have to compete with me to cover?

Gimme a break...

I agree. The MM's have made a killing here on the puts.
Since there have been virtually no shares to short but lots of sceptics, Amzn puts have been the only play, albeit with huge premiums.
The MM's will do whatever they can to keep the puts worthless and setting up a hedge makes them almost bullet proof.
Unless the Elephants unload they can't go wrong.
The last time I checked Morgan Stanley and DLJ had not sold their seats and yesterdays 14 point sell off was mostly retail.
Until the Elephants sell their seats, we won't see the much anticipated 50% downday. After all the Elephants still own 25% of the float.

Is, still on that same subject. What a lot of people here might not understand is, the reason they can't get the shares to short is because the Elephants won't let them. If the Elephants won't sell their seats, they short theirs to make the perfect hedge.
The only Elephant that appears to be restless is Merrill Lynch.
