Hello Donkeyman Since this play seems to hold special interest for you this was on CC's Morning Coffee today: ********* * Major General (MGJ : VSE : $0.30 : Issued 35.5M) / Ascot Resources (AOT : VSE : $0.26 : Issued 17.8M) Late Tuesday, Major General and Ascot released further (verbally transmitted from Monopros) caustic fusion results from their 2M-acre property on Victoria Island in the Arctic, being operated by Monopros De Beers). Tuesday's Daily Letter noted the first results from the Phalarope kimberlite, one of the five discovered by Monopros in June: results from the four pipes are summarized below: Pipe Sample Wt Table (not available in email version) Results from the fifth kimberlite, the Snowy Owl, are expected in the next few weeks. Please note that macrodiamonds here are over 1 mm, whereas most NWT reporting by other companies use 0.5 mm in one dimension as the macro-micro split. The Whimbrel, Longspur, Golden Plover, and Snowy Owl kimberlites make up a cluster located 2-7 km from the Monopros property boundary: in the spring, we learned that Monopros had identified "several" diamondiferous kimberlites on its own ground. The results to date are not "barn burners", and further field work is not likely to be undertaken until next year; however, the identification of a new diamondiferous kimberlite field on Victoria Island is indeed interesting. For background, we would refer you to our July 8 research report on Aber Resources (p. 23) and Daily Letter comments of Oct 6/98, June 11/98 and May 12/98. Monopros Limited may acquire a 51% interest in the Victoria Island property by expending $2M on exploration and making payments to Major General and Ascot totalling a $200,000 over three years. Once Monopros is vested at 51%, Ascot and Major General will each retain a 24.5% working interest in the property. We cannot offer fundamental opinions on Major General or Ascot at this point.
