Free Windows 95 tip to all Pinksters...

You can greatly increase your browsing speeds by upgrading your Win95 Dial Up Networking system software, free from Microsoft. The main change is an item in your system called MTU or maximum transmission unit. This was set originally in Win95 to 1200 which is great for ethernet networks in the office but terrible for internet connections. The upgrade will reset it to 576 which is the internet standard while you are web browsing. If you log on to the office network it will reset again automatically, and so on. (This was fixed in Win98) You should experience a considerable improvement in your browsing performance. Here is the upgrade web page:
