I am getting a little scared that TDFX doesn't understand the market (or is it me?). They seem hell bent on yanking every last dollar out of their products. While this seems to make sense, they are losing their "goodwill" from being the industry leaders. I have a nasty feeling that the big monkey ad thing is going to be simple SLI. Big deal. It seems that they are really going to push V2 into next year as their number one product. Unfortunately, I think that a lot of the gaming mags will be giving TNT some credible reviews. Banshee 2 in Q2? What the hell is with this? Crank it up 25MHz, and whoop-de-do! Nada. Banshee will be THIRD rate behind TNT, Rage 128, PVRSG, Permidia3. I know that these guys aren't even around yet, but I have a feeling that there will be significant new technology coming out in the next 6 months. And a Banshee shrink ain't my idea of new technology. By the way, I had mentioned the following before, and received no response. Let me try again: Nobody has made an issue out of Banshee. It was to be the fastest 2d and 3d when it was released. It was also supposed to come out on schedule. TDFX had stated this many times. As best as I can figure, one of these statements was not true. Either it was supposed to be out on the market earlier, or it didn't perform up to expectations. I think this is a VERY big deal, yet nobody else seems to mention it at all. Why? And why the hell are they keeping their roadmap so secretive? With sub $100 Banshees (which aren't supposed to mess with retail sales anyway, it is an OEM product, right?) and $100 V2 boards, will announcing a cutting edge product at a $200+ range for some time months into the future really eat into sales?
