I believe all of the add on Adaptec AHA 2940 series adaptec.com SCSI adapters have boot target ID. I asked on several forums about boot target ID with onboard Adaptec controllers and got no response. Since they share the bios with the mobo my guess is the on board controllers do not have boot target ID.

This card is virtually a defacto standard for non raid use. Unless you want something high end. This is the card/chipset you want to get. Premium $$$ but check pricewatch. HIghly recommended.
