The big lie about the internet is that there is some mysterious new "technology" that makes it nearly impossible for others than the early adopters to compete. The reasonable thing for analysts to admit, whether they are in love with the stock or not, is that they just don't know whether Amazon will be able to hold onto market share or be bested in what they offer. The speculative nature of the investment is being grossly underplayed by the pimp brokerage analysts through the buy recommendations and momentum price targets. This is a telling tale of the worth of brokerage analysis to society and the need for greater regulation - a forced splitting up of analysts and brokerages.
