Gram negative bacteraemia in U.K. & Wales. Steady increase over many years. Due to better reporting, resistance, combination or other factors? From experience with U.S. teenagers I am convinced that many if not most have no concern at all for how non STD disease is spread. phls.co.uk

Xoma is mentioned and this portion concludes "The beauty of BPI is that it not only kills bacteria but binds to endotoxin, stopping the sepsis cascade. The endotoxin is then broken down by the liver and excreted." Yes, I know there is nothing new in the article, but Bob, it's not the science it's the market. Frankly, don't know how much impact this article will have and perhaps if it is not picked up by other media it will have none. discover.com Note the November issue is not yet on line. Next point is article points out why developing resistance to peptid dres in general may be more difficult and the part that deals with XOMA has two mentions of sepsis cascade. In addition BPI is the first drug mentioned under phrase some peptides are beginning the arduous trek to market.
