The trouble is that such drop invites a lot of traders coming for a quick profit, and, therefore, as it bounces, they will sell while others who missed out go short, thus the price would never bounce to where it was.

I suspect that this merger may be a smoke screen of the weakening business of VRTS. (something like starting a war to divert political tension inside a country) In other words, this drop, if not happening today, might happen in the near future anyway. There might be a problem there already. We will see.

Well, even without the deal being called off we missed a rebound to 40 by a tick. A 15-16 pt bounce off the lows Thursday below 24. Shows how much I know...
