"Most of these companies won't exist two years from now," said the chief executive of one Internet advertising start-up who visited the trade show on Wednesday.

Spoken like a true tech bull. Gee, I wonder if Oracle will still be around in two years? The way I see it, Larry's placing a bet on what could likely be the next great paradigm shift in computing. If he wins, we'll all win big. I'm willing to go along for the ride. Hell, we're still using an AS/400 system at my office, and as hideous as the user interface is, I can tell you that I haven't had to have a support person at my desk since I started back in June; all system maintenance is handled at the server.

Maybe if Microsoft is broken up, the new software company can concentrate on creating stable network versions of its Office suite.

Thanks for posting that story, Roy. Great stuff.

Good luck to all,

Mark
