Mr. K, Let me talk specifics. I have worked at 3 companies in the last 4 years approx. These were Oracle, Silicon Graphics and Dell. (I have something new at a new company but I havent been there long enough to gauge the situation). Of the 3 companies mentioned, Oracle and Silicon Graphics both had CEOs and senior executives that routinely dated staff members, right out in the open, such that these little trysts in both cases were alluded to in business week articles and the like. The president of Oracle, Ray Lane, married one of these women that he had been dating. McCrackens affair with a personnel worker at SGI was the subject of a humorous skit at one of the company offsites. My line of work is targeted at big companies (expensive software) so I dont get to go to the smaller firms such as @home etc. but from what I have heard those are worse, much worse with regards to interoffice consentual affairs.

It could be that high tech is really bad in this area because people work such long hours btw.
