Puff: have you been following Asia? Thailand will back in growth mode next year that 3-6 months from now. They started with 38 billion dollars in reserves until the whole thing collapsed and last Aug. they only has 800 million in reserves but since then they have done a lot to correct the situation now their reserve is back to 15-16 billion dollars, inflation is going down and so is interest rates.

Same with S.Korea one the worst hit- I read in another six months they should bottom out and latter part of next year will be in growth mode to be followed by further growth in the following year.

China the mother of all markets has done an exemplary job and has grown 7.5% for the first half of this year and projected to continue the same for the rest of the year.No the world didn't collapse for them, what happened to spooky news-'oh yeah China is going to devalue' and the whole world world collapse for the 2nd time? This is one of the countries that counts no micky mouse Indonesia or Malaysia.

Look at Taiwan-what do you think is going on there?
Can you say growth

Where in Latin America do you see insurmoutable problem. Sure Brazil has a huge debt but they have done a lot since the 80s to handle these things.Make no mistake if they need temporary help the U.S will the first to help.I don't expect them to have a melt down. The other countries that counts,Argentina,Peru and Chile are all in growth mode.

Japan-The only country who runs a budget surplus year in and year out going to collapse, Naaaaaah I don't think so.

Europe- Spain cut interest rate,UK expected to do it today,to be followed by Ireland and Portugal and the rest of them perhaps with the exception of Germany. Greenspan will too next month if not sooner.

IMF Funding-Even the Republican now want to pay the 18 billion to IMF and soon that will be resolved.

I know nobody is willing to listen to any good news these days just
like during the good times when nobody wanted to talk about problems.
I believe we now have seen the two extremes, one while 'going in' and now 'on the way out'.

Well that is the way I see it and I am not yet subscribing to the theory that the 'collapsing world' theory.Oh well I better think about
shutting down the damn computer before I do something stupid.<g>
