This promotion of PSE Pro as the best (indeed ONLY) database solution on Windows CE is IMO a great marketing strategy. As for the quality of the execution, it's hard to judge from thousands of miles away.

Aside from the development time savings and the runtime speed, there's a third 'hook' to get people involved in this company's products: its excellent support for Windows CE. In the last 6 months, we've also seen a fourth hook develop: XML market leadership.

In the last few weeks I have made about 10 sales calls for my own company (we develop and sell funds management software). The lead-time for each sale is about 12 months on average (some of the prsopects I started in April are just warming up). So I wouldn't start panicking yet that the marketing initiatives are not bearing fruit.

This is where I sort of agree with ahhaha. I'm not expecting the sort of instant results that make portfolio managers go crazy over a stock. But I do expect every initiative to start paying off after 12 months, and for the payoff to just grow and grow. Often the biggest payoff will be after 2 years, when the apps developed using ObjectStore start to deploy in big numbers.

In the meantime, maybe we'll have to put up with growth rates of 'only' 40% or so!

At moments like this, we each get to choose whether we want to be a speculator or an investor.
