El, yeah...pretty unbelievable. IBM is the last PC manufacturer I would own. And HWP stock now is more expensive than DELL. When was the last time that happened? I'm going to wait 'til DELL gets back to 60, sell it all, and put all of the proceeds into CPQ. I now have too many stocks to worry about, and they all are going DOWN.

Yes, their P/E ratio is much more reasonable, compared to CPQ, and especially DELL. CPQ touching 23 1/2 again now...

Checked on rolling the puts out.. It didn't look good. Eating the stock looks better. Decided to delay the trade for a bit

I am using SCBA gear big time for option positions. I always knew going naked was risky. Thought I would try it out for a thrill. I'm going to wear my clothes from now on like a good little boy.

El,
I follow IBM pretty closely, and it has held up both last year during the fall and so far this year. I think it's a combination of consistent performance and Gerstner's words on service growth. A pretty good performance, especially in view of no growth in hardware and software. Although most on many of these threads tend to trash IBM, the street is obviously liking what it hears. The PE doesn't hurt either.

John

ps - The company is also a good example of diversification, it's well known that their PC business is weak, but other divisions cover them. Looks to me like they should concentrate on laptops, that is where their technology can give them a better edge. I also have mentioned several times that I believe IBM's services growth (forward statements made by the CEO) should bode well for CPQ and it's services push...
