I spoke with management again yesterday. 42m subs were added for Sept. The 10m net number included an adjustment from the roll-up. Gross ads were well over the 42m number.

Bottom line: Still not great, but subs are up 20% this year. Sept. saw a record number of DBS subscriber adds at 212m. The industry is booming.

The only good thing about the low stock price is that it becomes that much easier to finance a cable company buyout.

The DoJ isn't making it easy, but stock incentivized Primestar management aren't giving up. As time goes by and negotiations continue, they come that much closer.

Upside still tremendous as stock trades at 50% discount to depreciated book value. Stay tuned, that's all I can offer.

MURDOCH VS. TURNER
He was one of only two major league team owners who voted against News corps. purchase of the Dodgers, he has referred to Murdoch as "Hitler", he is the reason Primestar didn't pursue ASkyB in the first place forcing ASky to seek an illfated deal with DISH; Ted Turner hates Rupert Murdoch. Reportedly, Turner would rather lose his entire investment in Primestar rather than sell out to Murdoch at $4/sh. The money is there and Murdoch is ready to go, but noone wants to pay $6/sh. when TSAT is trading sub $2/sh.

War is ready to be waged by TSAT shareholders against the Primestar Board of Dirs. which includes TWX reps. Gets more interesting all the time.
Conclusion: Turner can stall a deal and probably receive some sort of sweetener. Legally, TWX Board members have a fiduciary responsibility to act in the best interests of Primestar not TWX. The Situation may get more ugly before it gets better, but at this valuation, hang tough. November meteor showers, the first in 33 yrs. may shake things up a bit.
