Robert - <<OT>> re: ""The Republican Congress has voted 71 times to cut or curb family-planning and abortion rights and services."

That is a good example of advocacy journalism. It is written specifically to imply that the freedom to chose is the issue - the issue in those cases is the use of taxpayer funds to promote and expand abortion as an alternative to birth control or, heaven forbid, the evil of abstinence.

Because the law allows abortions to be performed does not mean taxpayers should have to pay for it.

Mr. K.

There's a nice example of a "Moderate" position. Abortions to the 9th month any time anywhere any reason and make tax payers pay for it and like it too.

Let's see how could we make it any more moderate. Hmmm. I know! How about manditory attendence at the annual Abortion Day celebration?

Its about money as your post indicates. The Griswold and Roe decisions by the US Supreme Court protect both reproductive rights and abortion rights. These happen to be decisions I agree with although I am personally opposed to the abortion industry. I just think it is too intrusive to have the Government involved in these areas of people's lives. No one has tried to outlaw abortion, etc. JLA

Robert, in the 1994 elections, not ONE pro-life candidate lost to a pro-abortion candidate!!!!! NOT ONE!!! Could it happen again?

It's one thing to kill your own, it's another to ask me to pay for it!!! The votes were about taxpayer money and partial birth abortion, in which case the child is minutes and inches from being born!!! Aren't you glad abortion wasn't so readily available when your mother might have had the chance to change her mind?
