Capabilities to Clik! Mobile Drives,
Lets Digital Camera Users Affordably
Store More Images

Clik!(TM) Flash Memory Reader Will Download Digital Photos From
High-Cost CompactFlash(TM) and SmartMedia(TM) on to Affordable
40MB Clik! Disks

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 8, 1998-- For digital camera users eager to extend the capacity of flash storage, Iomega Corporation (NYSE:IOM - news) today announced that Clik! Flash Memory Readers will be part of a special digital camera bundle including the Clik! Mobile Drive.

The Clik! Flash Memory Reader allows digital camera users to easily download digital photos onto affordable 40 megabyte Clik! disks without having to return to a desktop or notebook computer.

For an estimated street price of $249 (U.S.), which is about the cost of today's 36MB flash card, Clik!'s digital camera bundle will lower the total cost of ownership while extending the usefulness of the digital camera itself by allowing users to capture pictures at the highest resolution without spending a fortune on flash storage. At an estimated street price as low as $9.95 each (U.S.), when purchased in a 10 pack, 40MB Clik! disks can be used with the Clik! Mobile Drive to provide an inexpensive portable storage alternative to download and archive digital photos.

''The Clik! Flash Memory Reader addresses one of the most frequently cited limitations of current megapixel cameras -- the lack of affordable, high-capacity, portable storage,'' said James Kelly,
president, Mobile Storage Division, Iomega Corporation. ''Eventually, Clik! Mobile Drives will be built in to digital cameras and this problem will be solved. But for those who own digital cameras that accept only flash storage, Clik! Flash Memory reader is an affordable way to increase the number of pictures they can take and store on the fly.''

Clik! Flash Memory Reader is designed to accept CompactFlash and SmartMedia cards from most digital cameras. It allows digital camera owners to download images in a matter of seconds by connecting the Clik! Flash Memory Reader to the Mobile Clik! Mobile Drive and transferring the pictures from the flash card. Unlike flash memory, Clik! Mobile Drives can be used as a ''digital negative'' for long-term storage of digital images without any need for another storage media.

The Clik! mobile storage system is designed to enable true point-and-shoot convenience to digital
camera users and improve the convenience of other current and future portable digital products. 40MB Clik! disks can hold several Microsoft PowerPoint presentations or several hundred Microsoft Excel or Word documents, and can just as easily hold up to forty megapixel, or near
35-milimeter quality photos, like a digital roll of film, or thousands of e-mail messages with file attachments.

The lightweight Clik! drive is designed to be an ideal storage companion for today's portable digital products, from digital cameras and handheld personal computers (HPCs). With the potential to connect to virtually any portable digital or desktop product, customers will be able to easily share information between products, using 40MB Clik! disks, and synchronize it back to a desktop computer.

Iomega's Clik! Mobile Drive Flash Memory bundles are expected to be available in the U.S. during the second half of 1998 for an estimated street price as low as $249. A lightweight, low-cost version of the Clik! drive for OEMs, ideal for inclusion in portable digital products such as digital cameras, handheld personal computers and smart cellular phones, is expected to be available in the same timeframe.
