How about a merger, AMZN and Boston chicken? Sell chicken
nuggets on the web and call it Amazon Fried Chicken?

After all how much would pay for his money losing 'Thing'?
How much is, his touch, feel, community experience, wonderful brand name and the
loyalty of his customers worth?

James,

This post is serious. My opinion is Amazon has built a name on the net. It is not nearly as well known as the analysts make it out to be. It is far from synonymous with e-tailing as though it is the only game in towm. The log term value of this name is almost nothing. The reason being is there are a variety of brick and mortar names that are much more readily recognized. There is value to the exlusive contracts AMZN has on certain web sites. However, that exclusive likely may go to the buying company. The exlusives on certain sites in my opinion is worth about $80 million but I would change the name once I had the license. I believe the technology and servers for their web page is worth more than most would think although it may be duplicated it is still complex. I would have to go back to the balance sheet to see what value is placed on the distribution centers but I would not have confidence in that document. I would guess the entire firm is worth $300 million. That is the servers, web site and exclusive contracts. The distribution centers may have no value in that I believed they are all leased.
