Morning Bryce,
We definitely are in some very serious times. Abby Cohen(Goldman Sachs) just lowered her earning projections on the S&P companies for the year. Ms. Cohen has been the most vocal market guru that has maintained a positive spin on this market. You merely have to look at the news today from the merged Citicorp/Travelers to see what our international banks are facing with their international exposure.
Washington is totally distracted from the events that have an impact on all of us. No budget in place and looking dimmer by the day and Republicans threats that CLINTON better now shut down the government. Heck! If they would just leave him alone, he could spend his time with Monica and then what would be their excuse be not to do something for the working people.
With that minor distraction taken care of, IMO it will be the small caps that are cash flow positive and not exposed to the international turmoil that will be the safest in this market environment. With that said, when the sky is falling, who wants to look up?
